IDER announce themselves with the R&B-meets-folktronica of the unapologetic “Sorry”

IDER consists of Megan Markwick and Lily Somerville, both based in North London and collaborating since moving in together last summer. “Sorry” is the initial outcome of their dedicated work in their shared living space.

The duo interprets the song as a reflection of “falling out of love with someone. It navigates through stages; starting with uncertainty and concluding with self-reliance. Unlike typical love songs, it focuses on discovering self-love. Despite its title, it remains unapologetically honest.”

“Sorry” blends R&B elements with finger-snapping percussion and flowing piano keys, while the bubbling electronic sounds and the duo’s natural harmonies subtly transition the song towards a folk-inspired direction. The hook, serving as the track’s concluding affirmation, states: “all my skin / I’m wrapped in / all I need,” conveying empowerment and rejuvenation.
